two years in a row- in snowed in baton rouge louisiana
actually in 1 year (last year it was around december 12, 2008)
anyways, after it rained most of the day. it finally switched to all snow about 9pm. and stopped by 1045. yes, we did have snow around 6pm. but again it turned to rain.
after it finished snowing. i had just enough time and snow to make a snowman. i took some snow from the back yard, the neighbors yard and put two 25 foot plastic sheets in the yard.... the sheets were to get even more snow to stay. yes, we have to resort to this in the south.
but oh well...when you only get snow 2x in 15 years.....you do what you can to build 1 snowman.....
so here it is

our house snow covered 2009-12-04 friday
this is our house in baton rouge louisiana snow covered for the 2nd time in less than 1 year. what the heck is up with that in south la.
Yes, i actually decided to put christmas lights up on thursday night, just in case the weather cooperated and snowed....
Santa has come through once again. I owe you one big man.
flower beds near our front door
yes in december we actually can plant our winter flowers in La. hopefully the snow does hurt the flowers....which i planted 2 weeks ago.
only 1 snowman created this year
I laid down two plastic sheets. 1 in the front yard and the other in the backyard to catch as much snow as i could.
i did not have to use the sheets at first...but within an hour the snow was starting to melft fast... so here is our 3 foot tall snow man.. okay 2 and 1/2 foot.
no matter how big...i am still proud.
Laurie completes the snowman
i thought about waiting till the moring to build a snowman. but i knew better. the snow would probably be already gone by 7am...so i decided to go through with it.
the kids will like it....
we tried waking them up and we were successful....but only for about 2 minutes...to tell you the truth...they thought their warm beds were more interesting.
but i am sure we will see them at 6am or sooner an saturday..like always...snuggles with mom.
6:30 am the next day (december 5th)
as i thought. the kids were excited and most of the snow did melt before the am.
so my late night work on the snowman paid off.
they were excited enough to go outside and see it..
thanks, Santa...
couple more since the 6am hour which we took
